Community Connects is Nexstar Digital’s employee volunteer program that has expanded to all of the companies locations across the US.
After Media General was acquired by Nexstar, we were tasked with rebranding the volunteer program to include all of the digital businesses. The logo resembles two C’s linked together – visualizing the idea of a connected community. We used Gilroy as the typeface to stay consistent with Nexstar Digital. We were also assigned with designing promotional materials for the first Community Connects major volunteer opportunity – Nexstar Founder’s Day of Caring – with “Hunger” being the overarching cause. Using the color palette and fonts established with Nexstar Digital, we used illustrated vegetables to represent hunger and designed posters for all of the office locations as well as a newsletter.
